money money money!!

hi all....yes, i have resorted to begging for money on my blog. i have to raise $1400by the time of the marathon on Oct 12th. I would like to give a BIG thank you to my parents, Annie, and Sarah Mac for donating to the cause.

I'm doing it through Team in Training which has been around for 20 years and raises funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma research. And I need your help... I have to raise $1400 which will go towards research and in return for raising the money, they will train me to run that far... and many of you have been so kind as to say "what, you a runner??". Yep, that's me...or at least that is what I am working towards.

Originally I took on this challenge as a personal goal and challenge. I've always been in awe of runners and in particular anyone who can actually do a marathon. One of my best friends from high school trained with Team in Training in NYC and she was never a runner either, but she did it earlier this year and had such a great experience she is training for her next marathon already! Leukemia is also a cause that is personal to me. My Grandpa had non acute Lymphoma and lived with that for years. And, sadly, two of my very close friends just lost their mother about a week ago to Lymphoma. She had only been diagnosed earlier this year and it was all so sudden. I want to show my support somehow and this is the best way I can think of right now. My Grandpa and their Mom are what keep me going at 7am on Saturday mornings when I think I can't run another mile. That's why I'm doing this...
