Ike!

Ike barreled right on through the Galveston/Houston area and pretty much destroyed much of the island of Galveston. So many people lost their homes or had so much damage. My parents were fine – they will probably have to replace the roof on the garage and the house, tear out some trees, fix leaks, fix landscaping, etc but they weren’t hit too badly. They did however just get their power back on today (6 days after the hurricane). The lake house was pretty much fine too, but there was some damage to the front porch and some rotted trees will have to be taken down (which btw, is going to cost 8k! what?! For taking down trees? Robbery there if you ask me). And it still doesn’t have any power and who knows when it will b/c it is in a super small town where they don’t move very fast.
