my second day trip to champaign
So in champaign, I gave my usual presentation and then afterwards there was a happy hour. I was talking to one of the guys who had attended and he told me that he thought “it was long enough to be appropriate and short enough to keep everyone’s attention”. And with that, I totally thought he was referring to the length of the skirt I was wearing!! I looked down at my skirt just to confirm that it was long enough, and it was touching just above my knee. Then the guy was all, no I was referring to the presentation! I felt so so stupid, but laughed it off as a joke. But, come on… really the way he worded it… couldn’t he have said the presentation instead of ‘it’!? I am still laughing at myself and that was about a week ago!

Katherine--this is so funny. I actually tell my students that when they're writing a summary of an article it should be like a woman's skirt--long enough to cover everything but short enough to keep it interesting. :)
In any case, I'm really glad your presentation went well.
I think we all are entitled to one blond moment per day. I saw a Wallaby at the zoo today and thought it was a giant rabbit. Luckily only my mom heard me...
that's a really cute little story - i totally laughed of course - but in a "that was cute" way.
how funny! was the guy cute??
um, no guy was old. typical old guy that i always meet at my presentations. i love that sarah tells this to her students!! i was seriously cracking up the whole way home.... and btw, i almost always wear pants so i think maybe that had something to do with it too...
