she is beyond fascinating! i loved every minute of her speech. she is incredibly inspiring both personally and intellectually. i'll admit i hung on to every word she said and didn't even find myself wondering when the heck it was going to end... as i typically find myself doing during these types of events.
before lunch, i had bought her book and tried to get in line for the signing, but alas... i was too late, the line was too long and i was told that she'd be signing more after lunch... so, after lunch, i booked it downstairs to where i could have megs sign my copy of her book, the power of many. i ended up being the first person in line!
as i blubbered and babbled and gushed my love to meg, i'm sure i sounded like a complete idiot! i don't even really remember exactly what i said other than little blurbs:
i used to live in ca! ... i'd totally vote for you if i was still there... i LOVED your speech... it was so inspirational! i'm one of those unemployed people you were referring to... i've been thinking about business school, but haven't quite decided... i think you'd be a fantastic speaker for my alma mater, scripps college!... i love you!! i want to be you!! will you be my new best friend?!?!
yeah, ok, so maybe that part after scripps i didn't reaaaaaaally do... or did i?! just kidding... i didn't... but it sure felt like i did! in response to my blabbering about business school, she told me to do it. she said it was the best time and she would definitely do it if she were in my shoes (she went to harvard).
i can truly say, i left that lunch beyond happy that i was able to attend this luncheon! i enjoyed it so much (except for the sucky food) that i've already signed up to hear the next two speakers: anna quindlen and kristin von ogtrop, the editor of real simple.
i heart you, meg whitman!!!!!!!!!!!
