ok, so our school's song which i just can't even give you the tune to is: back back to cullllllver daaaaays! they used to have a digital file of it, but alas... i can't find it. and i'm tired of searching... but, the sat and sun after i returned from france i drove to culver (it's in northern IN) which is just about a 2 hour drive. it was a most wonderful couple of days! i really truly love it there... i hadn't been back since laura's wedding 3 years ago!

me and olivia. she's 7 weeks old now!

this is laura's mom, jill, with her sister melissa's 9 month old, kristoff. they are reading an awesome book about animals.

see?! olivia loves me too. love her face here!

olivia with her mommy, laura.

katy flew in with her bf, mike (who we met for the first time), and got to meet olivia. katy went to culver with us. i hadn't seen her since my 29th birthday when she was last in chicago for a visit. she lives in DC.

culver girls mini reunion plus olivia!

katy was technically in town for her gpa's 90th bday with her whole family so we didn't get to see that much of her and she didn't stay with us. but i stayed with laura and her whole family at her gma's house on the lake. we used to come over for weekend visits to play on the lake and waverunners and just get off campus for a bit. it was awesome. here we are in front of the cottage.

and now, a short break in the weekend for some old school pics! this would have been summer of 97? or 98... laura, me and katy.

oh yes, that's a turquoise and pink waverunner! that's laura, katy and jay (a guy i dated in h.s. -haha!). one of our many jet ski at laura's gma's cottage to get off campus for a bit!

and that's katy, me and our buddy, gavin. what can i say "hey, wanna go off campus and jet ski?!" was a pretty good pick up. who wouldn't want to?!

this is a bunch of us in our senior hang out -beason hall. katy is on the far right and i'm just next to her.

and now back to the weekend: stephanie (laura's youngest sis) brought her rock band. so we all took turns trying to play.

an absolutely gorgeous sunset - this is chris (laura's hubby) and mike on the right (her dad)

this is her sister melissa's hubby, anthony, holding his baby niece, liv.

chris is totally a rock star!
that evening, we went in to town for a lovely dinner at corndance. the owner of the colts was there having dinner at the table next to us with his whole family (he owns two places on the lake). chris managed to insult the guy, well, his grandaughter by asking what happened to her head. umm, it was a birthmark. ooops! wtg chris!

the next day, mike (laura's dad) had the brilliant idea to dig up the rocks and rearrange to form a dividing wall/line between the props... the house next door is for sale... he was 'reclaiming' the land! stephanie and anthony and chris all got in on the action.

oh my. oh yes. they really got in to it. the chainsaws even came out to cut branches and then clear out that whole treed area! then it was time to burn it. omg, it was hilarious. can't even begin to explain.

this is melissa with kristoff and laura with olivia.
i had such a great time being part of the family with them! they have a lot of fun and it couldn't have been a more beautiful couple of days. we got in some wave running like old times and had a blast. laura and i even found a water trampoline to jump on for a few minutes "to test it out". i can't wait to do it again - hopefully before out 15 year reunion... when laura has decided that we must do a girls' sleep over at her gma's house. can't wait. wait... 15 years?!?!?! maybe i can wait a bit for that one!!
