the chitastrophe!! 2/2/11

i love all the made up words describing last week's blizzard. i'm a little slow to post, but eh, i'm always behind these days...

this is my garage. my very nice upstairs neighbor, phil, shoveled it for us. yay! i can get my car out. too bad the alley was too full of snow to go anywhere. oh well!

the unemployed crew of me, stefanie and kyle headed out to play with everyone else who had a snow day from work. where should we go?! to lake shore drive of course! it'll probably be the only time in our life that we will WALK on the drive. better go do it while we can!

me and kyle are just hanging out on the on ramp to lake shore. the snow was so packed and deep that it made for a great place to sit. periodically we'd hear cops yelling for people to get off the drive. nobody was paying attention and as soon as the cops drove on, everyone climbed back on the drive.

ta-daaaaa! we are in the middle of the drive. they were still clearing cars off of it so it was shut down to traffic.

we definitely weren't the only ones taking pics - i love the people in the background posing. and i also love that the sign is flashing just in case you weren't sure that there was a special alert going on!

40?! yeah, not today!

two things of note: 1. this is where ALL of the city's tow trucks were in case you were wondering. this is just north of fullerton (about 1.5 miles from my house) and 2. look at that gorgeous sunset!

this was about 5:30 on that wed. still clearing away snow in order to get the cars out and towed. holy mess!!

and since we could, we of course got in the middle of all those long stuck cars! that's me, stef and kyle in case you can't tell with all of our ski gear on!

and then, for the heck of it, kyle drove our carpool. only the heat wouldn't work and we sure didn't get to go very fast with all those cars in the way. we cracked ourselves up. and the cute guy that took this pic. why was i so lame as to not talk to cute boy more?! oh well...

after walking around for quite awhile, we got cold and decided to head back over to clark st where we found a bar open for dinner and then we cabbed it back to my house for some movie time! for those of you looking for a great chick flick, i recommend sorority wars. really dumb, really great.
