i saw a sign...

and it opened up my eeeeeeeeyyyyesss!! anybody else have that ace of base song in their head now?! ok, maybe it's just me. in any case, in support of dev's post about dibs in chicago... i'm posting this picture i took today. i literally drove around the block 3 times to get the picture. just for you guys! why 3 times?? well, the first time i saw it and wanted to read it but passed by too fast and then there was a car behind me and i couldn't back up. grrr. ok, around the block... and then i read the sign and thought it was fantastic. and decided i needed a picture. and there was a car behind me. so instead of fumbling with my gloves (must come off to get phone and make it work) and fumbling to get my phone from my purse and then get it to camera mode, i decided to go around the block again. so on my 3rd trip down the street (which is literally about 2 blocks from my house), i got my picture and here it is!

don't forget to read the bottom part of the sign -
it's a little harder to see, but that's what makes it even better to me!

and now, i will say that more than a WEEK after the blizzard, i find this sign totally ridiculous. first, since it's been long enough, most cars have been dug out (though some are still buried) and while the bigger streets are definitely better for finding easier spots to park in, i don't think you should be able to call dibs anymore. especially since there are plenty of dug out spots that i spotted with no cars, no signs and no lawn furniture in on that very street.

many things to say on the topic.

BUT

i wish this was the approach that ppl would take in miss amanda's neighborhood because it's super awkward double parking next to patio furniture just to drop off the baby.

Clear messaging.
Conceited approach.
