christmas in JH, WY

this year, the fam all went to jackson hole, wyoming. it was the same crew as was in malibu for thanksgiving: me, the bro, mom, aunt ellen, uncle jim,  and cousins ben & caitlin.

the premise for this year: do something different! mom came up with jackson hole, wy and i, in absolutely no way, discouraged this idea! i've always wanted to go and have never been. none of us had ever been. as my brother said when i asked if he'd ever been skiing "i've hardly ever even walked on snow". oh. ok. guess he hasn't been on any ski trips that i didn't remember!

our hotel had awesome fire pits and chairs complete with blankets to keep you warm. here's my brother, caitlin and moi.

the tree in the lobby

our living room. so cozy! the fireplace was delightful.

hitting the slopes: caitlin snowboards and me and ellen do the skiing thing.

me and ellen with our ski instructor, john, the first day.

an outdoor, ski up ice bar. fantastic concept!

taking a ski break at the fire pit... me on the left, caitlin on the right. fire in the middle!

having lunch one day: caitlin, ellen, me, and cousin ben who looks eerily just like our granddad.

that's brother and sister duo on the chair lift ahead of me and ellen.

this was delish. heck if i remember what the heck it was, but it was hot, served in a ball jar, and full of tasty goodiness!

the view from our condo. uh-may-zing.

the whole fam at dinner one night - minus my uncle who hadn't arrived to  WY yet.

me and my momma in the lobby. with christmas lights.

the ladies of the trip: ellen, caitlin, me, and momma

the hotel had offered to set up a tree and decorate it for us... for a whopping 5-700 bucks depending on size and decorations! woah. so mom thought, woah... heck no... and went online to have a fakey tree sent to the hotel and we set it up ourselves complete with some sparkly decorations from target and a few that we picked up in the village in jackson hole. she even got free shipping and it was pre-lit. all for a hundred bucks. much better deal there! and that tree is now in my storage unit in my building waiting for next year to be set up in my condo. lord knows i'll have to find some strong guy to help carry it up cause that sucker is heavy!!

more fun and pictures to come...
