gone fishin' twice...

i've been having lots of fun during the day playing with my little friends, graham, nelson, and elliott, and their mom, my friend marlene. we make play dates to take her boys to the park and this time we tried something new... fishing! they live in a suburb called park ridge and it has all kinds of great parks, playgrounds and even a nature center. the nature center has fishing poles you can borrow (for free!) and so we decided to try fishing. why not?! marlene and i both thought the boys would have about oh, 5 mins of fun... but both the bigger boys loved it! we wouldn't let them have hooks (good grief... someone would have lost an eye or something!), but they still somehow managed to 'catch fish'. they were way too cute. and really good at learning how to cast and reel in the line! it was their first time fishing.

graham was saying 'cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeese'! maybe saying isn't the correct verbiage. he was screaming 'cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!!!!!!'

we all had so much fun, we decided we'd have to do it again. so we did. i think about 2 weeks later. this time, the fishing wasn't so novel and while the boys were super excited to fish, it only lasted for a little bit this time before they got bored. but even elliott got in on the action the second time - he could grip that big pole and he had fun dragging it around and trying to fish like the big boys. luckily next to the nature center/fishing spot is a super duper playground... so we headed there for some more fun!
