A few weeks ago, it was my friend, Stephanie's birthday... and we celebrated with a fantastic lunch, drinks, and cake up on her roof deck. She lives in the Gold Coast right on Lake Shore Drive. The roof is up on like floor 22? Anyways, it's way up high with incredible views... and a lot of nice patio furniture and bbqs (another post to come featuring those!)... Stephanie shares her birthday with her younger sister - that's right - not her twin, her younger sister, Kathy. They are born a few years apart on the exact same day and I happen to think that's pretty awesome. In any case, they grew up in the suburbs so I got to meet the rest of Stephanie's family that day too. It was such a gorgeous day... but it was really windy! And got quite chilly as the sun went down... and it was the beginning of me feeling super crummy for the week... I ended up with some sort of lame small fever and virus. But, I made it to the celebration for most of the afternoon and I am so glad I was able to help Stephanie celebrate! She's a new(er) friend, but one I've come to really love quickly... she's super smart, friendly, open, out going, and beyond caring.... I have a feeling you'll be seeing and hearing loads more about her in the years to come!

I could nap (read: HAVE) on any (read: your) roofdeck any day. Wish it weren't so wet here most of the year or I would have put a stronger priority on that type of space!
