FLAIR: Fun. Fashion. Philanthropy.

Last Thursday, was an awesome event that my friends, Sarah and Autumn were a big part of called Flair. It was such a fun event: a fashion show, wine, and all the money went directly to benefit the Lighthouse. Lighthouse is a place that supports and helps those who are blind or visually impaired. It's a cause close to my heart as you all know about my mom's parents who were 100% blind most of their lives. I would love to devote some time to this cause, I just haven't been able to yet as well, no excuses but life has been a bit hectic this year. In any case, I had so much fun with the girls and also shopping!

Let's shop!!

There was wine served...
lots of food - including a cupcake tree!

Lovely decorations...

There was even a DJ!

Me and my friend, Sarah.
before the shopping commenced, there was a fashion show... please note that purse on her arm... I hunted that thing down and grabbed it up. It had to be mine... I fell in love... more on that in a bit though!

Sarah modeled in the show too and looked absolutely fabulous! The dress was a brand new Escada and the fur (fake) around her neck is detachable. It pretty much was made for her... and lucky her, she snapped up this dress for a mere $350!! The tag was still on it and I believe it is worth over $3000!

Another outfit modeled. I loved the bow on her guide dog!

More modeling. Loved the jacket, but didn't get it... some other lucky person did though!
Obviously this is one of the pics I took... the others were professional... but this was my attempt on the iPhone and this is the end of the fashion show... Sarah is there in the middle.
How cute is this lady!? She donated loads of items to Flair.

The chairs of Flair or at least big wigs at Lighthouse... can't quite remember, but had to show their outfits!

Just some of the racks of designer clothing and items for sale!!
Autumn, Me, and Erika... love these ladies too!

Me and my friends sharing what we all bought! I found two dresses, two bags, and an Armani jacket (for 50 bucks) perfect for my new job (when I finally get it).

But, the piece de resistance... the Prada bag that was shown in the runway show! It looks like literally it was never ever used... and it couldn't be more my style.

Another angle. It's so so so pretty. And when I looked at it closer at home, I found the price tag still inside the bag... and it was originally $1550!! It went on sale and someone bought it from Neiman's for $1050. Then seriously it looks like they never used it, then donated it and I bought it for $550. And every single cent went to support the Lighthouse. And while I shouldn't be buying more handbags... or spending that kind of money on one, I just couldn't let a deal that great get away... and helllo, it was for charity! A fabulous charity!!

And finally, here are Stefanie, me, and Jamie at the Union League's Homecoming last Friday. I share this picture because I didn't take any others that night... so I can't really blog too much about it... but also b/c the dress I'm wearing I got at Flair... and I got loads of compliments on it! It's hard to see in this picture, but it is stunning! It's a silk, grayish, Luca Luca dress that fit perfectly... and I got it for $50... no idea it's originally cost, but I'm guessing a heck of a lot more than that... that's a label I'd never be able to afford at retail!
