last week i took otis to get groomed at a very nice place near my house. the vet even said how wonderful they were so since otis had not been groomed since newport, i thought it might be good seeing as though it's that time of year when he gets tons of knots in his fur. the groomer and i discussed that i hated lion cuts and i thought we had an understanding of what i wanted. well, when i got home, his fur was just a little bit more than groomed. it was practically gone! and he had a poof at the end of his tail! and he looked so ridiculous i started to laugh and then i kinda wanted to cry. my handsome furry man had a lion's cut! or at least what i call a lion cut. so of course i called and they said they would fix it as best they could but of course they can't glue his fur back on...but they did get rid of the horrible poof and smooth out a patch. the groomer explained to me that many places/groomers won't do cats because they are so difficult and their skin is so easy to cut and b/c of the size and width of various blades, that is the way cats are groomed.
and in all honesty, it took me a few days but i actually really like it. he has been so snuggly and likes to be right there with me and i love that. plus he's playing more. he's found his tail and he thinks it is great fun to try and get it. he's also super soft and he looks so small! with all his fur he looks like he weighs 20 pounds. without all his fur he looks like he weighs maybe 10. according to the vet where he also got to go last week, he is actually 14 pounds. his new do is quite slimming! my mom says he's being so cuddly because he's cold. whatever... maybe he's cold, but i'm enjoying my snuggle bunny. see the pics below for before and afters of his furry self, his poof on the tail, and what he looks like now.

the 'before'

otis' new do

he embarrased by the poof so he gave me his bum and i caught the one and only time he'll ever have a poof. thankfully it was gone the next day!

otis!
the poof pic is hilarious, but he looks quite handsome in his after pic. but the fluff will grow back, right?
oh my gosh! otis! he's nude!!!
they did that to lola too for the same reasons. she was so so so embarrassed.
but it makes sense, and i'm sure it'll 'grow' on him...
but seriously, oh my goodness.
all fur grows back.
I think Otis's new streamlined look is perfect for spring.
I especially like the way he looks in his face with the new cut. Very GQ.
oh my goodness how cute does he look! he really does look about half the size from the first pic :) you never know, he may love it and request it each and every time!
i'm laughing out loud right now. this is the funniest thing i've seen in a while. poor otis. all of his manhood was removed along with his fur. he's half the man he was. hahahahaha!
I am crying I'm laughing so hard! In the 2nd one, I couldn't tell which was the blanket and which was him. It looked like just his head was sticking out, but after a second glance, I figured out the optical illusion. Poor Otis!!!!!
