oooooh thank you OSU!

never count your chickens before they hatch... well thankfully, they've hatched and we've closed on one of the assets in harper hotels which was my granddad's company that we took back control of as a result of our suing a certain hobag. i know my parents are thrilled to have this one sold as no one in our family is qualified to take over and all of my gdad's employees have been around for at least 35 years. literally. some longer. and so they are all ready to retire... and my parents are in a little better position. and for this i say thank you God, for everything you have given us. this is truly a bright spot in an otherwise crappy economy.

and quit making jokes of holiday inn! back in the 50s it was a motorist's only option on the new highway system. so it's aging a bit, but it was a pioneer in the interstate hotel sector and my gdad led the way with his properties - i think he was the 6th franchisee for the corporation. so jeez... every time someone wants to make a joke about staying in a crappy hotel, they use holiday inn. how about motel 6 or super 8... can't people make fun of those?! i hear it all the time... of course not many people know how insulting it is, but still!

actually, i think holiday inns are great! i recently stayed at a holiday inn express and it was lovely! super 8 or motel 6 are definitely a lower quality. holiday inn has pretty good breakfasts too :)

I have stayed at the hotel in South Burlington a ton of times. Did I ever tell you that? We used to get rooms up there when we would go drinking in Canada or when my friends were at UVM. I actually drove by it the other day and thought of you. We used to try to steal the art off the walls. It was always glued on.
