easter and easter egg hunt!

alice had invited me to lunch with her uncle joe and her parents (in town visiting) for easter and i gladly accepted. i am not much of a ham fan, but i didn't want to be a rude guest and so i tried the ham which was surprising better than i remembered. probably b/c of all the maple honey sugar glaze on it! that's right, anything can taste good cooked in sweet stuff! there were mashed potatoes and asparagus and warm rolls. there was also a salad that i passed on as all they had were white condiments for dressing and we all know my aversion to those. for dessert there was cheesecake (also not a fan) and vanilla ice cream (very much a fan!). alice's parents were super sweet and even gave me an easter present of a starbucks card, which being unemployed i very much appareciate! and some chocolate too. yum! so the lunch portion of the day was very nice.

then it was nap time as i hadn't gone to bed until 4ish the night before and had woken up not long after that to get ready for the brunch/lunch with the dollens'.

after my nice little nap, i met up with kyle and her friend blair for an easter egg hunt. kyle decided she had to do a hunt and blair being jewish had never seen or participated in an egg hunt. kyle had bought some baskets, a load of candy, and a bunch of eggs for our hunt so we got those ready and then we went on a little walk while blair hid the eggs for us all over the park area at north and astor place. after some help and tips in how to hide eggs, she was on her way complete with bunny ears! once the eggs were all hidden, kyle and i started our hunt. we found a lot of them, but we definitely missed a lot of them too. we didn't count before hand, but i know we had a lot less than we had when we started. there is a statue in that park and blair had hidden a huge lollipop and some eggs in it. when we got to the statue it was all gone! someone stole our eggs and candy from there! who takes candy from strangers?! and it was kind of obvious we were hunting - with the bunny ears and eggs and all. lame. we were also all convinced that some of the playing and retrieving dogs and squirrels were responsible for some of the missing eggs...

you look so cute! and I agree with you, anything covered in a maple glaze has got to be good!
