mlk wknd: sv

i've been traveling. a lot. a lot a lot. i feel like i haven't been home much at all since december! over martin luther king weekend (mlk wknd), i went with a few friends to sun valley, idaho. kelley's parents have a condo in sv and i'd been there once before a few years ago... so when she mentioned a few months ago that she was going for mlk wknd and that i should join in on the fun, i decided: YES, duh. i decided it would be an early birthday present for me. so, on friday the 15th thru mon, the 18th i went to sv.

once we arrived, we dropped our stuff at the condo and then headed to the bar and hit apples where we met billy, a guy who lives there and had met kelley about a year ago. we enjoyed a few beers and then headed to rent some skiis for me and tina. once we accomplished that, we headed for a glass of wine at the wine bar next door. then it was back to the condo to freshen up and then head to dinner at the thai place, rickshaw. billy joined us girls: kelley, annie, tina, tam, and me. tina and tam are new friends. they've known annie for ages and kelley for about a year. they are great girls! after a very very yummy dinner, we headed to whiskey jacques.

the next day, we got up and headed for the slopes. kelley and annie are really good, tina had barely ever seen snow and had tried to board once before, tam is a pretty proficient snow boarder, and me? well, i'm decent... but it'd been 3 years. kell and annie went off together and me, tina and tam attacked the gondola and green/easiest run! after skiing, it was on to apres ski at the lodge... then to grumpys where we indulged in corn dogs and fries. yum! later that evening, we went out to the cellar and whiskey jacques for some more fun drinking. there, we ran in to the guys we'd met the night before and ended up heading back to their house until about 4am for the after party!

these were some of the boys we met. most of them were from seattle and were seattle prep guys... younger than us tho...

on sunday, we decided against skiing... the snow wasn't that great and well... we were all a little *ahem* tired... so we went to whiskey's to watch the football game... jets/chargers. tina is a HUGE football fan and kelley/annie are pretty big too. it was a fun afternoon of drinking and food. dinner that evening was at the pioneer aka 'the pio'. the pio got loud and rowdy since the guys were there as well. kelley got annoyed... she didn't love the group... and didn't love that the other girls were paying more attention to the group than to our table. but, the food was delicious (steaks) and then a big ole slice of mud pie came out with a big happy birthday singing complete with a bday candle for me to blow out!

mud pie fight!! some got in my eye and it was sticky all night! and then later in the evening, kell was staring at my neck and was all 'what is that?! you don't have a birthmark there..."...um, no i don't, but i sure did have mud pie on my neck!!

and then, on monday... it was time for me to head back home... i had to go from sv to salt lake, then detroit and then chicago... long weekend and loads of fun!!
