mph + sam = the hoyts!

friday the first brought about not only the new year, but matt and sam's wedding! our house spent the day eating our wonderfully prepared breakfast and then hanging out at the beach. in order to get ready, most of the girls took over the boys' master bathroom and relegated them to our small bathroom. miraculously, we were all ready on time and headed over to the hoyt's casa on time for the 5:30ish wedding. or maybe it was at 5. i don't really remember since the couple getting married didn't really even know. it was a rather casual time setting... in any case, we got there and were seated out on this small overhang overlooking the ocean and this incredible back drop.

matt and his groomsmen (adam & jeff) get ready down by pool #2 on the lower level. yes, there were levels.

the ceremony began and sam was walked down the aisle by her mom and her dad. her parents stayed at the casa too and from what i got to see of them, they are so much fun and so cute. her dad gave all these great toasts. the ceremony was the perfect length: not too long, not too short and then it was time for the kiss!

ian, allen, aj, and dave pose before the ceremony

ok, look. yes, boobs. big eyeful o'boobs. i know. i was totally self conscious the entire night. until i got way drunk and dancing. then it was fine. you guys know how i feel about boobs. i hate them! i did not intend to show them off quite this much! however, that is what i brought to wear and being in mexico, that is what my option was. i hadn't tried the dress on for awhile and apparently i've gained weight. oh yes. my weight gain is always in the boobs. and spare tire area. so, boob-a-licious was i that night....

the bridal party was barefoot. including the bride. the boys were not so intentional, but there was a shoe issue prior and well, they just did without.

awwww, not actually the first kiss or even during the ceremony, but i thought it was a great picture anyway!

i took this from the overhang space of where the ceremony took place and this is the other wing of the house where more photos were taken.

these are all of the claremont constituents at the wedding including matt's mom and dad (on the left hand side of the pic)

looking down on the reception

the reception was also held at the casa. all of the flowers were done by sam's aunt (i believe) or one of her family members who is super talented! they were beautiful. the tables were done in a blue and white with the floral centerpieces. the dinner was fresh mexican fish that had been wrapped/cooked in tin foil. the funniest moment of the night came when aj decided he didn't want to wait for sam's sister (courtney) and her brother (jeff) to finish their toast and so he's trying to quietly open this foil and all of a sudden, the whole freaking fish is in his lap. and did i mention the foil was full of juices?! ahahaha and then we had to try and be quiet b/c they were speaking. luckily for him, it landed on his napkin and it wasn't that big of a mess and it was also dark with not much lighting so it was hard to see...

if you look closely, you'll see miss sarah lyman in this shot showing of the dinner reception area...

hanging out by the pool. i can't remember this girl's name, but she was super sweet, then there is anne and you girls all know miss lyman.

honestly, aj's expression in this picture is just priceless. and it cracks me up. and therefore had to be included!

but speaking of toasts, i heard the best toast given at a wedding. and that award belongs to matt's brother, adam. i can't even begin to do that speech justice, but it was witty, funny, sweet, embarrassing, and overall just fantastic. for part of it, he'd managed to get a hold of matt & sam's first emails back and forth. for those of you who don't know the story i'll briefly recount it for you. basically sam and matt went to high school together. then lost touch. then about 2 years ago, sam answered one of matt's ads for a renter. he recognized her name and simply sent an email reply with something along the lines of what's up pash (her last name)? and from there, their emails went back and forth and eventually they went out and fell in love. she ended up renting a different place, but well... here we are at their wedding and they look amazing together. so back to the best speech ever: adam actually dug up those exchanges and read them and it was awesome.

so, with dinner over, the drinks freely flowing... the dancing begins. sam and matt did a very sweet choreographed first dance and then everyone headed to the dance floor. lemme mention that it was hot. oh so very hot and steamy. the whole night. dancing did not help the steaminess. it was not long before the boys were off with their shirts. pictures were being taken. more dancing happening. but, the dj played random stuff. nothing i really knew except two bon jovi songs. we requested stuff like journey, but he didn't have it. but everyone was still dancing, so as sam said, who cares what the music is when everyone is out dancing?! true true! and lemme just tell you, at one point i told matt that when i got married that i would need to rent his uncles. omg, those guys were cracking me up!!! they were hilarious. especially uncle charlie. man, that guy was in his own universe and it was awesome.

ooooooh dear, here comes the truck driver! yes!!!!!!!! i love truck driver!!

us hot ladies with the groom

courtney got up on the bar to dance and got sam up there and then before we knew it the entire pash family: mom, dad, brother, and both sisters were up on the bar dancing. it was pretty sweet.

h.o.t. there go the shirts!

pull ups were even being done! look at those boys...

courtney was en fuego! she was awesomely drunk!!! hilarious. she is great.

our hot sweaty selves.... i love how tan i look next to preston!

then, at some point, someone thought it would be a great idea to go swimming. and at first we were just going to swim back at our casa since it would just be easier. but then everyone was talking about it and the next thing i knew, clara and allen and i forget who else had gone back to our casa rummaged through everything and gotten our suits and one was being thrust at me. so sarah and i ran upstairs and threw on our suits and ran downstairs to jump in the pool with everyone else. i must admit: the water was not cooling. in fact it felt like a warm bathtub. but that was so not the point. chicken fighting ensued. lots of chicken fighting. lots of laughter. and a bunch of underwater photos (super unflattering of me!) were taken. such a fun night!!

see? told you there were quite a few people taking a dip!!

love this one of them two!

this is the hoyt/pash chicken fight. please note sam's dad's face. it's priceless!

speaking of priceless... check out these two fools!! i love it.

***yep, this was a super long heavy text and picture post. hope you hang in there for it all!***
