munchkin!!

i got to meet another munchkin! on sat, feb 27th i headed over to the south suburbs of chicago to visit heather (a h.s. friend), her hubby rick and their adorable almost 9 month old baby boy, ricky.

so sat morn, i got up and did my morning run with the group and then bagels with nicole and alice. after that i went home and quickly got ready to head to the suburbs. on my way as i was about to get on 90/94, i felt a boooom! first thought: you've got to be fucking kidding me!!! second thought: oooooooooh maybe this asshole will have to pay for a new bumper!! (my bumper is beat up b/c backing out of my garage is rather difficult since i am the middle spot of a very narrow garage with a very narrow alley. i tend to find the corners of the garage behind me. awesome). so i get out of the car to check the damage and thankfully there was no damage to either car... but i still didn't know what to do... i hadn't been in an accident since senior year when i also got rear ended. with a keg in my car. you scrippsies know that story! so i tried to call the parents for help, but they weren't there. so i got this guy's info just in case... once i finally talked to my parents i felt much better b/c i wasn't sure if i was supposed to call the cops or if i needed to talk to insurance or do nothing... or... i had no idea. so luckily, nothing has to be done. phew. crisis averted. and so i got on to 90/94 and headed to the near south suburb of lyons.

once i (finally) arrived, i got to meet ricky for the first time!!! what an awesome baby he is! he's a happy smiley (except for the camera) love bug who just stood up for the first time a few days before i visited! heather came in one day to find he had pulled himself up to standing in his crib staring at the kitty across the room. we had such a fun afternoon catching up & playing with ricky. we also made venison won tons. i know, you're all, what?! yes, we made venison won tons.

i'm baaaaaaaarely tall enough to touch the floor, but i sure can move around in this thing!!


i'm normally all smiles, but not in front of the camera! aren't my mommy and i cute?!


auntie katherine and i got to play alllll afternoon!


she had on this super fun little necklace...and long hair...

the won tons were for a venison party they were going to later that eve (to which i was also invited). so heather and i assembled while rick fried them up. omg, they were delicious!!


hmmmmmmmm, what goes on here mom & dad!? i want one too! we sat on the floor and ate some of the first batch of wontons that big rick made for us. heather had made the sauces. YUM!

ricky wanted to try one too... this was just before he gummed it, then tossed it to the floor... i guess 9 months is a little early for wontons.


daddy was throwing me up in the air and catching him and then the monkey was playing and i was holding on to the much coveted napkin and i was actually caught on camera with a smile on my face!!


my apologies... no idea how the heck to turn this right side up... so turn your head...or the computer. and the volume up. nothing better than baby giggles!!
