printer's row lit fest

The Printers Row Lit Fest was founded in 1985 by the Near South Planning Board to attract visitors to the Printers Row neighborhood (once the city's bookmaking hub). By 2002, it had grown to five city blocks (on Dearborn, from Congress to Polk), attracting more than 200 booksellers from across the country displaying new, used and antiquarian books, and featuring seven stages with more than 100 free literary programs.

disclaimer: ***since i couldn't say it any better than the official FAQs for the festival, i borrowed their wording!***

ok, so it's kind of small, but this is the layout of the fest. it's such a cute part of town! and so many rows and rows of books and things to look at!

it was such a beautiful day - not sunny and perfectly warm but not hot.

in front of the rare books store a man was playing his banjo (at least i think it is a banjo!)

and now for some various views from the street:

and now for my bounty! i had some great finds and no book was more than 8.50! now that's a deal!

i picked up 2 cookbooks (yes, cookbooks) which were half-price and cost me a total of 7 bucks. and then the john green book is called " an abundance of katherines" which clearly i had to get - that seemed like a good read! it's about a guy who's been dumped 19 times... by 19 katherines! and then the one on top is a spy/mystery/thriller for my dad. i met the author and he signed it for me. it was so much fun to meet so many authors, sellers, and people!
