scripps...10 years later - the conclusion!

after touring the campus, it was time to get ready for the GOLD champagne toast, the president's reception, class dinner, and the rest of the evening.

a few weeks prior to reunion, adrienne gibson asked me if i would be willing to give the graduating seniors a toast at the champagne/GOLD reception. of course, i said i would be thrilled - and i was!

sarah had been at a work event all day, but she managed to make it in time to hear me toast the seniors (and even take a few pictures)!

i'll admit: i was nervous! and to be honest, i hadn't really prepared a toast! yikes! but, having given countless presentations in my work life, i knew i was better when i had a general idea of what i wanted to say versus a rehearsed speech planned.

and so, after a few minutes of congratulating the seniors, reminding them to donate (the annual fund ladies asked me to throw that in) and encouraging them to stay involved through various means, i raised my glass and toasted them all.

after taking our class photo (which, the class of 2001 by far had the most representation of returning graduates!!), we all headed over to the president's reception. because of the large turnout - it was packed! it was so fun to mingle with all of the reunion years.

on our way to the dinner, sarah and i took a picture in front of our very first room at scripps. we now have a picture from 5 year reunion and our first day at scripps. and we've promised that we'll keep up the tradition at each reunion to come!

under the tent at the class dinner - which i'll admit had lousy food and poor music. i mean, the music i'm sure was lovely. but it wasn't dancing music. it wasn't fun, get up out of your chairs and dance music. and unfortunately, unlike last reunion, we did not stay and play and dance all night there. instead, we headed back to the new village to grab a glass of wine.

to round out the weekend, we all had brunch the next morning at the new village at le pain quotidien and then said our goodbyes. sarah and i made a pitstop at heroes to say hello to some of the cmc boys before heading back to santa monica. i would say that i can't wait til our 15 year reunion, but since that means another five years will have passed, i think i'm just fine waiting for a long time til the next one!!
