finally! more space!

i am so excited... my parents decided to give me a present of new closets! i finally am ditching that horrible wire crap and getting california closets. well, technically they aren't the brand name, but they are every bit as good if not better and cheaper. way cheaper. i got to do all 3 closets and am so excited. for the installation i obviously had to take everything out and put it somewhere. that was challenging... where to put all kinds of crap that is normally in the closets... well needless to say the dining room table, couch, corner of my room, well let's be honest a lot more than a corner of my room... so the installation guy came and set everything up. it took hours! i had no idea what to expect in terms of time, but it ended up taking most of the day. then the fun task of putting everything back. i'll tell you this much, it is SO much easier taking it all out than putting it back! i still have shit everywhere. it's a big project and i have to have loads of energy to deal with it. and so i do a bit at a time. except for that first day... i was on a time crunch there. my high school friend, katy, was coming in from arizona (more on this later) and she was staying in my 2nd bedroom...which was covered with everything that had been in that closet. oh boy. i had just a couple hours to get it done as i was still really hoping to get to my body pump class at the gym that night. luckily i managed to get everything done - and the stuff is back in the closet. i had to throw stuff in there to get it all done so now i need to go in and rearrange and make it look pretty. i also got rid of bags and bags of clothing by going to the goodwill drop off. it felt great to clean out the closets. i'm sure that i have more i can get rid of, but i have to be in the right unsentimental mood which is hard for me! but i got rid of all my 'fat' clothes and vowed to never ever let myself creep up on those sizes again! that 20 pounds takes a lot of work and dangit, i'm not going back. i'm thrilled to be back in my old clothes from ca days. don't worry, i'm not too skinny. i just want to maintain now. and so anyways, i have new closets and couldn't be happier at the way they turned out!

i have a built in laundry basket! yay! no more basket in the corner of closet taking up space! and i have a jewelry drawer in the top drawer.
