our first night/full day in manzanillo!

matt and sam had rented this ridiculous 20,000sf casa (casa la veranda http://www.manzanilloresorts.com/DESTINATION/VILLAS/Veranda/CasaVeranda.htm) that literally had 4 entrances to it and more bedrooms/bathrooms/pools (3) than i could really count. they'd rented it for all their family to stay with them there and so that they could hold various brunches, dinners, and the wedding there. the night of the 30th, was a buffet dinner over at their casa. so once we'd settled in, we headed to their casa and had our fill of drinks, mexican food, and fun!

as we explored the grounds at matt's urging, we found a donkey. everyone had to take pictures with the donkey b/c it was just that awesome. here, ian shows us how to ride the thing backwards...

yep, we both climbed right on up... ok, so maybe it wasn't as easy as right on up... but still..


the next day, we ate at the palapa, hung out by the pool, did some reading, napping... and played at the beach!!

our peninsula gated community had its own private beach... here we are trying to tip over the swim platform... yeah, it's anchored, but that didn't stop us from trying!!

and then it was time to get out of the water, dry off, head home and getting ready for that evening's nye celebration!!
