alice turns 30!

happy birthday alice! alice is a very good friend of mine. we went to high school together at culver. for her birthday, we went to japonais. i had never been there before and was very excited to go and try it after hearing so much about it. since my friend, scott was in town (no not that scott, the scott i used to work with at triple net) for work - all the triple net folks were there during the week for meetings and he stayed the weekend. scott and i joined alice and 11 others (14 total) at japonais for some fine dining. the martinis were delicious and the food was excellent too. the only that that wasn't terrific was that the service was horrific. it took them a hundred years to get us cocktails and our food. i'd be willing to give it another chance though with a smaller group to see if that made any difference, but wow, it certainly was slooooow.

after dinner, we went downstairs in japonais where they have a bar. but even more fun is that they also have an outdoor bar area on the river. it was a perfect evening and we had a blast drinking more than our fair share of cocktails down there. after that, we left and went to the underground. scott had a friend who was going to be there with a bunch of his friends at a table. his friend promised us no cover and so off we went. i had fun there, but the group of guys they were with was a total turn off. the group was a bunch of guys who clearly make or have too much money and think the world belongs to them. their attitudes were so annoying and they had these slutty girls hanging all around. it got pretty annoying and i was done drinking so it was time to go home for me! but overall it was such a fun night!

on saturday, alice's celebration continued and we went to rockit. we met up with the girls there again and some of my other friends came out like matt and kim and jared and kim's brother paul. it was a really fun night again!
