friday night fun
last night, i decided i had to get out of the house. so alice and i went to the mca (museum of contemporary art) for their first fridays party. every first friday of the month, they throw a bash with drinks, appetizers, and music. we decided that we needed to go and check it out. it was so so crowded and both alice and i felt immediately overwhelmed by the super expensive drinks, very overcrowded atmosphere, and loud noise. i was so not in the mood and very grateful that alice wasn't either! so now we can say we've been there and done that... no thanks! after we left, we went to an italian restaurant (the name i am forgetting - i remember! quartino's) and met up with her friend and coworker, nicole. she was so fun! we had a great dinner of drinks and pastas and even topped it off with chocolate fondue which we all decided was rather disappointing. oh well... from there, we went to pops which is a champagne place and we each had a glass. and then decided more hopping was necessary so we went to nomi at the hilton. it's way up high on the top floor - maybe floor 16? - and they have a great terrace that in the summer time will be really fun. we had a drink there and then it was about 1 am and my recovering sick self was losing my voice and not feeling too well (and it wasn't from too many drinks!). so we called it a night and went home. it was so fun! no pictures though... i've been really bad at taking pictures lately... i'll try to remember tonight!

wow. way to break into well-hood in full spirit. my recovery looked more like a short walk down the stairs to the front door and then right back up to our couch. :) glad you're feeling up to hanging again! yay!
i've done mca first fridays, and for sure, one definitely has to be in the right mood to decide that an empty room with orange carpet is indeed art. i have been waiting for summer to go to nomi -- on a nice, hot summer night! tell me when you want to go back! pops for champagne is cute, agree? glad you're feeling better!
fun! sounds like an awesome night.
we had blake's grad dinner at nomi. it was truly amazing.
