how to party like a rockstar...

for my birthday, super diamond happened to be playing at the house of blues here in chicago (on jan 22nd). i LOVE superdiamond! they are a neil diamond tribute band based in sf and make the rounds all over ca. so when i lived in so cal, i used to see them play at all kinds of venues: del mar and taste of newport being two such places. so when i found out they'd be here so close to my bday, i knew i had to be there.

i convinced stefanie and nicole to join me at the HoB.

b/c it is open floor and general admission and b/c we are cute and thin and can squeeze our way to the very very front of the crowd, we did! we were front row along the railing. YESSSSSSS!!!

not the best picture ever taken, but i didn't take too many of the band, i was busy singing along... rather intoxicated of course!

at some point, stef says to me: hey, do you wanna go backstage?! i talked to this guy and he says he'll take us back there after the show. ummmmmmmmm.... YESSSSSSSS!!!!! here i am with surreal neil and the lead guitarist. awesome.

somehow stef had met the bassist and convinced him we needed to go backstage. and so, we got to go up where there were drinks (of course) and it was so much fun! at one point, we all left and went across the way to the hotel and there was a party on the 4th floor. this was at the height of bears mania since they were still in the hunt for the superbowl and there was this ginormous screen with their logo. stefanie thought this would make a fabulous background and everyone agreed. i have no idea who took all these pictures, but there was definitely a whole photo shoot that occurred!!

so. much. fun. posing with the members of superdiamond. we even got to meet black diamond. i kid you not, that's what he calls himself. he even sang a song with superdiamond and that's how he was introduced.

and that my friends is how to party like a rockstar. at least a rockstar in a tribute band!!
