is anyone watching desperate housewives still?? i hate the story line about carlos being blind. it makes me so angry. they make blind people look feeble and like they can't do anything on their own. i think all of you know that both of my grandparents went blind from an early age and that my grandpa went to notre dame and became a lawyer and eventually a judge. my grandma raised 4 kids and they did everything by themselves and lived in their own home until they were too old to take care of their own home anymore. i truly believe that the blind can do anything that sighted people can and for the show to suggest otherwise infuriates me and perpetuates an ugly stereotype.
the seeing eye dog story line with carlos tonight also made me extremely angry. my grandpa had many seeing eye dogs over the years and those dogs are so well trained that they are an extension of their owners. they do not growl, they are not allowed to get angry with people, and they do not sleep in the bed with their owners. they are not pets in the traditional sense. i hate this story line and have a huge problem with it. i hope they get real soon and portray blind people in a better light. ugh. seriously, i know it is just a show, but still... it needs to change asap.

I stopped after the first season, but it's infuriating how tv wrongly portrays and grossly misinforms; I got so annoyed at how Boston Legal was incorrectly characterizing members of the supreme court i turned it off.
