saturday night fun

on saturday, i had to rest even though it was a gorgeous day because i was not quite back to feeling normal and i had lost my voice and gained a cough from the night before. i also had made plans for a girls dinner with kim. we went to basil leaf cafe on clark and it was delicious italian. good wine, good food, and good company. it was a lot of fun! and then after dinner, we walked over to an old coworker's place. he's decided that he is calling it quits in chicago and going back to mn. his place was such a guy's place: a barren studio in an old building with no decorations and barely any furniture. at least his move will be easy! from there we left with jared (kim's real bf and my fake bf), brodie (the old coworker), and his gf. we walked over to the hidden shamrock and met up with alice and trisha for a few beers. it was so loud in there it was hard for me to talk and i again lost my voice. i ended up going up pretty early b/c i just couldn't talk. i thought about going to meet up with matt and elizabeth who were celebrating her bday, but they didn't tell me about their plans until that evening when i already had plans. and then they told me they were in the west loop at a place where they would probably leave fairly soon for somewhere else. not wanting to hassle with an expensive cab and trying to figure out where they were, i decided to take a 5 dollar cab ride back to my house instead and call it a night. my cabbie was enthralled with my voice... when i got in and told him where to go, he was all where'd you get that voice?! i told him to try the flu that turns in to a cold and then talk to much... that should take care of it. he told me to keep it b/c he really liked it... ummm, ok! glad to know that... and to bed i went. oh yeah, and sorry, no pictures of the night either...
